Founded in 2016 in Vilnius by economist and art critic Vilma Macianskaite, the gallery operated nomadically for nine years through strategic partnerships with equity firms, art foundations, and museums, focusing on artist representation and curatorial practice rather than maintaining a fixed location. In September 2025, the gallery opened its first permanent space in downtown Vilnius, marking the transition to an own location designed to serve as a center of attraction and a gathering point for art lovers, with a year-round exhibition program. Recognized for presenting significant yet accessible works by emerging Lithuanian artists, Contour Art Gallery plays an active role in representing Lithuania at international art fairs, further strengthening its presence in the global art scene.
